The Neula platform spreads wings
JT Weston Sp. z o.o. carries out a research and development project entitled: “Development of a self-configuring personal assistant module on the BPM platform that uses tools and algorithms for natural language processing and artificial intelligence.” The project is co-financed by the European Union under Measure 1.1. R&D projects of enterprises, Sub-measure 1.1.1. Industrial research and development carried out by enterprises, i.e. the Fast Track of the Smart Growth Operational Programme for 2014-2020.
The aim of the project is to develop the NEULA platform for mapping, automating and optimizing processes in the organization by developing an intelligent, virtual assistant module that will enable the use of unstructured messages (written and verbal) to support processes embedded in the platform. The key technological challenge of the project is to develop a mechanism for the automated creation of a user communication layer. Techniques in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning will be used for this. The solution will integrate NLP (Natural Language Processing) technologies with the BPM (Business Process Management) class system, offering comprehensive support for all processes implemented, not just selected activities.
The effect of the project will be to increase the ease of use of applications built on the basis of the NEULA platform. Adding alternative forms of communication with the user, apart from filling in standard computer forms, will increase the level of user satisfaction with the processes modelled and launched on the platform. Communication with the machine will use a more natural interface. Additionally, NEULA PERSONAL ASSISTANT will support the user in making decisions. A virtual assistant will allow you to automate your work, e.g. analysing user activity patterns and adjusting the service to their most common needs and behaviours. The module will also be equipped with a mechanism for automating the classification of the content of handled documents. It will allow, on the basis of data in documents and related metadata, to assign documents to selected catalogues or cases being processed.
The necessary research and design of new functionalities are carried out by the existing JT Weston team, which includes experts in programming, business architecture, process optimization, information security and personal data protection. The company’s staff has been additionally strengthened with specialists in AI and building voice-bots and chat-bots, with specific achievements in both the academic and commercial fields. Basic works are underway in Warsaw and also in Wrocław. Completion of the project is planned for the first half of 2022.
The estimated value of the project is PLN 5 356 888.10, of which PLN 4 110 155.46 is co-financing from the European Union funds. Already in the first phase of works, new ideas appeared for further expansion of the NEULA platform. The result was the submission of an application for co-financing of another undertaking, innovative on a European scale at least. And this is not the last word of JT Weston in the area of developing tools for business process management and digitization of small, medium and large organizations.
